San Cassiano – Amazing Italian Alps For The Senior Travellers

Another breath-taking place to visit is the Dolomites – The Italian Alps.

Nestled in the beautiful Dolomites is the quaint little town of San Cassiano. This little village is a two and half hours bus ride from Venice Airport. There is a scheduled bus departing from Venice Metro Station, picking up passengers at the Venice Airport before heading up the Italian Alps to Cortina. The bus service will continue onwards to San Cassiano but you must check the schedule as  this portion of the bus service from Cortina to San Cassiano is only available for certain months of the year.

Irrespective of your fitness level, in and around San Cassiano provides a variety of activities for senior travellers visiting San Cassiano. Firstly in terms of accommodation there are many types of hotels available within the little village. Alternatively there are also many self-contained apartments which provides the convenience of being able to have the flexibility cooking and eating in.

Take a slow walk in the little village and enjoy the quaint shops and of course sample the delicious local Italian dishes.

In winter the mountains around San Cassiano have one of the most ski lifts concentration in Italy and for the ski buffs this is ski paradise! For those who don’t ski there are many other other activities like hiking and walks around San Cassiano and also to the other villages near-by. LaVilla is just about an hour’s easy walk away. You can walk there from San Cassiano, have lunch there then walk back or take the local bus back.
